Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company's **Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS)** business unit has an exciting opportunity for an **Associate Assembler** (Level B) to join our dynamic team in **Sylmar, California.** Spectrolab is the world's leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab's state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth's orbit, as well as the International Space Station. **Position Responsibilities:** + Performs simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, equipment and accessories using manual operations + Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements. + Understands wiring and gauges including basic knowledge of reading drawling's and schematics **This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.** **This position is for various shifts (1st, 2nd, & 3rd).** Candidates must be willing to work any shift. This position must meet export control compliance requirements. **To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.** **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):** + Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment + Ability to read and interpret system prints and schematics + Experience soldering and terminating wiring + Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis **Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):** + More than 1 year of experience in wire stripping, soldering and welding + Experience in J-STD-001 Soldering **Relocation:** Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
