Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company's Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for an **Associate Panel Assembler** **(Level B)** to join our dynamic team in **Sylmar, California** . Spectrolab is the world's leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab's state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth's orbit, as well as the International Space Station. **Position Responsibilities:** + Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations + Performs such processes necessary for the fabrication and production of Solar Cells, including wiring processes, soldering, welding, adhesive mixing and applications, component bonding and abrading of substrates **This position is for 2nd shift.** **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):** + More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment + Ability to read and interpret system prints and schematics + Experience soldering and terminating wiring + Basic computer experience and competency + Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis + Experience in the use of chemicals for build preparation + Experience with MRP data applications for closure of work completed + Experience with Stamp Warranty + Experience using shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, and calibration requirements **Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):** + Minimum of High School Diploma or GED + More than 1 year of experience in wire stripping, crimping, soldering and welding + Experience in J-STD-001 Soldering **Typical Education/Experience:** Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate). **Relocation:** Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
