Drain Technician/Plumber
Full Time – Experienced
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Drain Technician/Plumber to join our growing team at Zoom Drain North Orange County. This hybrid role combines hands-on drain and plumbing expertise with customer-facing sales responsibilities, providing the opportunity to excel both in the field and at the table with customers.
This position is ideal for a plumber with a minimum of two years’ experience who also has the drive to consult with customers, generate revenue, and assist with business development tasks as our company continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Service: Perform drain cleaning, hydro jetting, sewer video inspections, trenchless installations (liners, pipe bursting), and major sewer and drain repairs.
Sales & Consultation: Meet with customers to assess issues, explain solutions in clear terms, and provide customized pricing for repair and replacement options.
Project Oversight: Ensure jobs are completed to high standards, collaborating with service managers and technicians for quality control.
Customer Interaction: Build trust with homeowners and businesses by providing professional, customer-first service and presenting repair options.
Lead & Quote Management: Handle assigned leads, generate estimates, and follow up to close sales opportunities.
Business Development Support: Assist ownership with sales reporting, tracking performance metrics, and identifying opportunities for growth.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a drain technician/plumber , with proven ability in drain cleaning, sewer diagnostics, and repair.
Experience with trenchless technology, pipe bursting, or liner installation is required.
Strong sales aptitude with ability to meet and exceed targets (annual sales goal: $450,000).
Ability to work independently while managing time and customer relations effectively.
Excellent communication skills with a customer-first attitude.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including a DOT physical and drug screen.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
Compensation & Benefits:
$26 – $40 per hour depending on experience, plus commission and performance-based incentives.
