The Job You Will Perform:

  • Responsible for environmental compliance for air, effluent, solid waste, and hazardous waste streams and systems of the New Bern Mill
  • Manages the lab which includes quality testing for the pulp dryer
  • Implement projects and best management practices that will help the mill achieve compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and corporate policies
  • Demonstrate due diligence and environmental stewardship
  • Oversee compliance activities to assure timely and effective completion of mill environmental, including company policy, state, and federal regulations
  • Strategically plan for compliance on any capital or process involvement projects
  • Serve as a leader for workforce engagement, diversity, employee and staff development and employee relations
  • Responsible for financial management including establishing and managing budgets and compliance with financial controls
  • Oversee timely completion of all monthly, quarterly, annual state and federal environmental reports
  • Respond to all concerns, complaints, and queries from regulators, the community, and audit findings

 

The Skills You Will Bring: 

  • At least 5-10 years Pulp & Paper Mill environmental management experience
  • Minimum of a B.S. in a science or engineering discipline (advanced degree in science, engineering or MBA is a plus)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Our GCF business helps customers transform renewable cellulose fibers into essential everyday products.
