Job Summary

The Junior Buyer is responsible for assisting the Procurement Department with administrative work.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.)

  • Send out RFQ for bids
  • Prepare data packages for RFQ
  • Send out Open Order Reports to Suppliers
  • Highlight any problem areas and reports to Procurement Team Leader
  • Generate effective communication, good relationships, and a positive image with suppliers and co-workers promoting courtesy, objectivity and fairness
  • Liaise with planners to control scheduling of parts to ensure stock levels meet demands while staying within stock level buffers
  • Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)/Withhold tags written against suppliers and relays such
  • information to them with corrective action
  • Update suppliers with engineering changes and drawings
  • Complete projects and other Duties as assigned

Education

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Bachelor’s degree is desired

Experience

  • Position may be filled with both entry level and experienced candidates.

  • Extended or irregular hours may be required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION

  • Direction with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and craftsmanship and measured based upon how well tasks have been completed. Receives detailed instructions as needed.

  • Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives.

Language Skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Hourly Rate Transparency: $25 - $30 per hour, depending on candidate qualifications
