We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to conduct basic health assessments and support the care of pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for working with children, and a commitment to providing high-quality, family-centered care. This role is essential in gathering data, identifying potential health concerns, and supporting the care team in planning appropriate interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct basic health assessments of pediatric patients, including vital signs, growth measurements, and developmental observations.
Collect and document health histories and current symptoms under supervision of an RN or provider.
Assist in developmental screenings and report findings to supervising RN or provider.
Monitor and report changes in patients’ condition or behavior to appropriate clinical staff.
Provide support and education to children and families regarding wellness, follow-up care, and medical instructions.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Maintain a safe and clean patient environment, following infection control protocols.
Follow up on assessment data and assist with coordination of care and referrals as needed.
Comply with organizational policies, nursing standards, and state regulations.
Qualifications:
Current LPN license in Georgia.
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric or family health care preferred.
CPR certification required (PALS preferred).
Excellent observational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under supervision while demonstrating clinical initiative and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience using pediatric assessment tools and developmental checklists.
Familiarity with EHR systems.
Bilingual language skills a plus.
Shift: 4-6 hours (per diem)
Work Environment:
This position may involve work in outpatient clinics, schools, OR in-home settings.
Physical requirements include occasional lifting, prolonged standing, and assisting children during assessments.
