TekCom Resources is seeking an
OSP Directional Drill Locator for a full-time, permanent-hire role with our telecom construction client in Greenville, SC
As an OSP Directional Locator, you will be operating and guiding directional drilling equipment for underground utility installations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of OSP (Outside Plant) operations, ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
Your duties will include: - Collaborate with the Drill Operator and/or Foreman to determine the optimal route for underground conduits or pipes to minimize disruption and maximize efficiency
- Monitor drilling progress and underground drilling paths using locating equipment to ensure alignment with predetermined routes and depths.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines throughout the drilling process to prevent accidents and ensure environmental compliance
- Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during drilling operations, such as equipment malfunctions or unexpected underground obstacles.
- Maintaining accurate records of drilling activities, bore logs, and equipment logs.
Our client would like to see this experience in your background: - At least 1-2 years of underground construction experience; utilities construction experience unrelated to telecom, such as gas, power and water line installation, is relevant and welcome for this role!
- CDL licensure is valuable for this role but not required
