Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Tax Accountant to join our team in Pismo Beach, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic CPA firm, contributing to tax compliance and financial reporting for a variety of clients. The ideal candidate will be skilled in utilizing advanced accounting software and possess a strong foundation in auditing and entity formation. Responsibilities: - Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. - Utilize accounting software systems such as CaseWare, CCH IntelliConnect, and ProSystem Fx to streamline financial processes and reporting. - Assist clients with entity formation and provide guidance on tax implications related to organizational structures. - Conduct financial statement audits and assessments to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Collaborate with team members to analyze and resolve complex tax issues effectively. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to provide informed recommendations to clients. - Generate and review financial statements, ensuring completeness and adherence to standards. - Support clients in meeting compliance requirements and deadlines for tax filings. - Participate in the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and tools to improve operational efficiency. - Provide exceptional client service by addressing inquiries and delivering clear explanations regarding tax matters. Requirements - Proven experience in public accounting, specifically in tax preparation and compliance. - Proficiency in accounting software systems, including CaseWare, CCH IntelliConnect, and ProSystem Fx. - Strong understanding of auditing principles and practices. - Knowledge of entity formation processes and associated tax implications. - Ability to generate and analyze accurate financial statements. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members. - Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. - Up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
