Job Description

Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Independence, MO

Salary: $77,600 - $95,000

Schedule: Weekday days, with occasional overtime and weekends required.

Focus: We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations at our ammunition manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for supervising the movement, storage, and handling of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with all safety, regulatory, and security protocols. The ideal candidate has experience in hazardous materials logistics, team leadership, and inventory control in a regulated environment.

Warehouse Supervisor Job Functions:

  • Supervise warehouse staff and daily operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with ATF, OSHA, and DOT regulations for safe handling and storage of ammunition and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, and support traceability and audits.
  • Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure efficient material flow and order fulfillment.
  • Train staff on safety protocols, operate forklifts, and manage warehouse documentation and systems.

Warehouse Supervisor Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of warehouse experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience handling hazardous materials or working in a defense/manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ATF, DOT, and OSHA regulations related to ammunition or explosives storage and transport.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with WMS or ERP systems, preferred.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • Must possess a Valid US driver’s license.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
