Our mission is to exceed customer expectations and offer exceptional value in meeting their pharmacy needs. We're seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team in Alexandria, LA. This is a part-time position with the potential for overtime and weekend work, offering a chance to learn every aspect of pharmacy operation through a rotating shift schedule.
What You'll Do:
Prescription Review: Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and identify necessary ingredients.
Order Entry: Utilize our pharmacy computer system to enter patient orders and manage refills.
Dispensing: Dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals, including occasional compounding.
Supervision: Assist in guiding pharmacy staff in packaging, labeling, and shipping medications.
Dosage & Interactions: Verify prescription appropriateness regarding dosage, drug choice, administration, allergies, and potential reactions/interactions.
Customer Service: Answer patient questions about drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
Problem Solving: Address customer concerns and work towards quick and satisfactory resolutions.
Compliance: Adhere to established procedures for quality assurance, cost-containment, controlled substances, and drug disposal.
Regulations: Comply with HIPAA regulations and our Corporate Compliance Program.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Support the Pharmacy Manager in supervising pharmacy technicians and other staff, ensuring adherence to regulations and policies. When the Pharmacy Manager is unavailable, you will assume temporary supervisory duties.

Judgment: Sound judgment and independent decision-making skills.
Education: BS/PharmD in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
Licensure: Current Pharmacist license in Louisiana.
Continuing Education: Maintain required CE units.
Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a positive driving record (if applicable).
Physical Abilities:
Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods.
Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers.
Vision: Good vision for reading and computer use.
Communication: Clear speaking and active listening skills.
Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
